VorteX-Y-Z was part of a group show consisting of artists using Max/MSP/Jitter as a performance tool. The laptop performance used a sound loop being modified in real time to drive the rotation of two cylindrical grid shapes. As these shapes rotated in space, visual feedback occurred, resulting in chaotic and mesmerizing patterns and shapes. A live video camera image was used to texture the grid shapes, adding a color variable that was interactive and dynamic.
